During the mid-year summary review in 2021, the PATPET quality department found an after-sales phenomenon, which is “broken ear – Loop for collar is broken.”
This phenomenon is very common in the industry, no matter which brand model will have this happen. But since the problem appears, we need to deal with improving them.
The investigation by the aftermarket staff revealed that this phenomenon generally had one thing in common – it was always found in large-sized dogs. This led to the diagnosis that it was probably due to incorrect use. Therefore, PATPET organized an investigation team of five people to investigate the “broken ear” phenomenon in depth.

The PATPET investigation team identified the cause and solved the “broken ear” phenomenon by communicating, giving the solution, video guidance, and real-time follow-up.
So what is the main reason for the problem? After several communications, it was made sure that most of the “broken ears” were caused by incorrect usage. How does the wrong way of use cause it and why does it affect the quality of the dog training collar?
The wrong way is mainly because when we train the dog some owners hang the leash directly on the dog trainer for convenience or without reading the instructions carefully. Even though the pulling force of the dog trainer can reach 30KG (data from PATPET laboratory), the force is mutual and often pulled many times, finally breaking suddenly at a certain moment. In the case that the user does not understand, they will think that it should be a product quality problem, but in fact it is not.
The correct way to use a dog training collar should be to move the collar every hour when using the dog trainer collar and not to tie the leash to the training collar, there should be another collar as traction. So when you use the dog training collar, you should have two collars, one for traction and another is trainer collar.
